Pumpkin showed up on my back deck near death at just about 2 months old with his brother and sister who were much to feral to bring in, so I fed and cared for them outside. Pumpkin was coaxed in with a piece of bologna. He had a serious upper respiratory infection and his eye was severely infected... if we had not brought him in he surely would have died. 14 years later he an indoor only kitty and very loved although through his life he struggled with his ups and downs.. these past few years he has been diagnosed with IBD (irritable bowl syndrome), renal disease and pancreatitis. He is also now prone to URI's (urinary tract infections) and upper respiratory infections. Pumpkin is on prescription food (wet and dry) and also L-lysine. He is my constant companion and just a bundle of love. You would never know he was 100% feral.
