Trooper The Handicapped Kitten

💔😿 Abandoned at birth & left to die in the cold because of his disabilities~ Trooper was rescued, but faces a lifetime of medical care. His K.P. winnings go to his Medical Fund to help pay for his continual pain management & care. 💉💊🔬 Visit his FB page! 🔴🔵 We first called him "Chance" because that's all he had. His feral mother abandoned him at birth on a frosty early May 2012 morning and we awoke to his pitiful crying. We found him alone in the leaves under a canoe at the edge of our woods. He had been stuffed under there by his mother with 3 other siblings. She moved the 3 elsewhere, but left this little black & white guy behind to die, abandoned. We waited hours for her to return, but she never did. He was so tiny yet LOUD!! We took him in and bottle fed him every 2 hrs around the clock for weeks. He flourished, but was still very sickly. He developed terrible abscesses on his joints which eventually crippled his front & rear leg. We found out shortly after that he was born without hips, has scoliosis & fused elbow joints that cannot bend. The doctor pronounced "abnormality of coxofemoral articulation & bilateral sclerosis". His back is very crooked, he cannot sit like a regular cat, but stands like a human and lays a bit awkwardly. He cannot "walk" normally, his one arm flops out to the side and his gait is very stilted. He manages to run very well however! Recently, into his 6th year he has learned to jump up on the couch, a feat he was never able to do before! 🔴🔵Trooper was born with a compromised immune system and suffers from devastating allergies for which he is under supervision and treatment from a veterinary dermatologist/allergist. $$$ These allergies result in chronic acute moist dermatitis (hot spots) and baldness from incessant licking as well as bleeding nose & chronic rhinitis. 🔴🔵We've renamed him "Trooper" because he has been one through his entire ordeal.
